New Album Finished
The new album "Dance of the Mad" is complete and will be released in March, hopefully at our swish launch party that we are currently trying to arrange. Failing that, we'll release it by holding some kind of armed robbery at HMV or somesuch. Perhaps.

Anyhow, it's 8 tracks long, 4 studio, and 4 live (Bannerman's last August). and is priiced at £9 from here. (see link below)

daily record review
STML are definitely trying to blend at least two or three rock styles into their sound. And while proficient and worth a listen, they tend to sound like Muse.
First song on the demo Sleep On It with its vintage heavy metal rock guitars and Robert Plant-style vocals is a runaway foot stomper that would have the moshers red raw. The band give their influences as Queens Of The Stone Age and Muse which you see. While the guitars are heavy and distorted the lyrics are imaginative and poetic like Muse.
The bass groove helps to lift the second song Royale from okay to not bad. But the chorus of You Will Always Be My Hero gives it a fair stab at being a stadium anthem. But the lyrics aren't as good as Sleep On It and there isn't really a sense of what the song is actually about.
Third song Temptress is unfortunately a pedestrian heavy metal workout by numbers. From lyrics like: 'Shimmer out of the darkness/A vision piercing a heart' to the occasional scratch from a DJ deck this is too obvious and is instantly forgettable.
But Edinburgh-based STML are definitely worth checking out. Judging from the power driven riffs and big lyrical content this is a band you need to see live to get the best from them.
